Correct answer is 9+10+12=31
or 14+8+9=31

All numbers given are even and the result of the equation is a odd number.
This is impossible because - by adding 3 even numbers the result is always an even number and never a odd number.
So we have to think outside the box and move 6, turning it upside down in box 9.
